Thank you for participating in the Birth Braid project!

Birth Braid is a participatory project that celebrates connections between postpartum people. Anyone of any gender who has been pregnant is invited to participate (regardless of how the pregnancy ended.) We also welcome those who have children through other means than pregnancy to reflect on the early days of the child joining the family. We all need connection and support.

This project helps build connections and share stories about the postpartum time.

What does it mean to participate in this project?

1 - make and mail in a braid.

2 - share a story or reflection and/or helpful resources.

Send in a Braid:

Make a braid out of any materials you have available to you. The braid can be any size, any length, and made of anything you want. The one thing I ask is that you please do not send me any blood, milk, placental or umbilical material, or any other materials that need special storage or are potentially hazardous biological or chemical materials.
